Several of our key personnel have airline experience and understand the drivers behind successful network management across all service types. We’ve been involved in some important projects for airlines. Most of our work has involved some element of the planning or network process - we help identify what’s working and what’s not; how to make things better; and where to look for new opportunities.

Some of our airline projects we look at are:

  • Network Strategy - Evaluation of strengths / weaknesses of current strategy; identification of new opportunities or strategic threats
  • Network Integration - Through merger or alliance
  • Fleet Evaluation - Upsize / downsize, analysis of the optimum aircraft size and frequency to serve existing and new markets
  • Route Profitability - Forecast of profitability on existing and new routes
  • Competitor Responses - Modelling of impacts on existing network of entering other carrier markets; or the threat of competition on existing routes
  • Start-up Planning - Planning the fundamentals of new airlines; network selection. Analysis of markets frequency, tariffs, profitability and scheduling
  • Pricing and Revenue Management - Evaluating current or proposed tariff structures and revenue management strategies
  • Policy Impact - The effect of policy changes on networks

We have a real understanding of aviation and the importance of the route network within that. Our consultants know the business processes within carriers and can contribute new ideas or analysis based recommendations.
