Mark Scourse | Director
Mark has more than 15 years of experience in the aviation industry and has worked for a leading manufacturer, an international airport and a commercial services provider.
After graduating in Physics from the University of Nottingham in 1997, Mark started his career at Airbus in Bristol and Toulouse, working on the early stages of the economic case for the A380 (then A3XX) project. In 2003 he returned to the UK to work for Birmingham Airport in the route development and marketing department, leading a team of analysts in the promotion of the airport to international airlines. Whilst at Birmingham Mark was also responsible for delivering the long-term business plan: forecasting aeronautical and commercial revenues and integrating these with cost and capex to produce an overall view of the business profitability for shareholders. He also studied part-time for an MBA in International Business from the University of Birmingham.
Next Mark took on a role as Business Development Director for 3Sixty, a digital marketing agency based in Bristol. His role was to advise airport clients such as Bristol and Leeds on how to commercialise their online activity and improve ancillary revenues, particularly from online car parking.
Since joining RDC Aviation Mark has worked on a wide range of consultancy projects such as investment proposals and route development plans. He is also responsible for advising on how our range of products can be complemented with consultancy to maximise their value to our clients.
Gareth Kitching | Consultant
Gareth is an aviation and transport consultant, having built up his knowledge working in a variety of public and private sector organisations since graduating the University of Sheffield in 2004. Having developed his transport analyst skills within Sheffield City Council, he progressed to aviation, undertaking detailed route development and commercial analysis, in addition to developing the commercial offering at Newquay Cornwall Airport.
He joined RDC Aviation at the end of 2011 and has since expanded the company's skill set in traffic forecasting, market analysis and bespoke modelling projects. Since the start of 2012, Gareth has worked on some of the largest global airport transactions (valued in excess of €2bn), as well as delivering long term traffic forecasts for airports across the World.
Since moving to Nottingham, Gareth has maintained his keen interest all things related to live music. When not working, he is planning his next trek abroad and has a long-term vision of conquering the Spanish language.
Nick Harper | Consultancy Analyst
Nick's career in Aviation began in 1995 on a year out placement at East Midlands Airport as part of his degree course Transport Management and Planning at Loughborough University. He graduated in 1997 and joined East Midlands Airport as Marketing Analyst shortly after.
Nick worked for the Airport/Manchester Airports Group (MAG) until 2012. During this time he worked within the Planning & Development, Aviation, Commercial and Marketing departments. He has experience of working with a wide variety of information sources including car parking, concessions data, passenger statistics and CAA Surveys. Latterly Nick worked on Digital and E-Commerce initiatives across Manchester, East Midlands, Bournemouth and Humberside Airports.
Following the decision by Manchester Airports Group (MAG) to sell Humberside Airport, Nick was approached by Humberside Airport to assist them post sale on a self employed basis. During this time Nick enabled Humberside to break away from the MAG Website and E-Commerce platform and standalone. Following completion of his work for Humberside, Nick joined RDC at the beginning of 2013.
Since joining RDC Nick has been involved in a variety of projects including EU Emissions Trading Scheme submissions, analysis and mapping for airport clients as well as working on market assessments.
Outside of work he enjoys travel, keeping fit and spending time with family and friends.
Joanna Hunt | Senior Consultant
Joanna joined RDC Aviation in 2006 after 6 years at bmi. In 2000, her career began as a pricing analyst and after a year of learning about the industry, she moved on to revenue management at bmi, bmibaby and bmi regional. In 2004 she took on the role of network planning manager at bmi regional, which involved planning the network, calculating profitability, managing the slot portfolio and recommending any changes to the board.
At RDC Aviation, her role is analytical and advisory. She enjoys taking complicated data and manipulating it in order to inform studies into anything from long term forecasts to route and network development. Primarily working with Airports, her experience at bmi helps her to advise clients and produce meaningful analysis and present it in an understandable way.
She loves anything to do with the sea, from sailing and waterskiing to sitting on the beach with a good book. She also owns a riverboat which she enjoys taking out for cruises with friends, during the summer months. To unwind, she enjoys yoga, shopping and cocktails with friends.
